Still need help?

Having trouble downloading music to your device? Select an option below for more help.

You can download Spotify tracks for offline listening on up to 3 devices. If you download to a fourth device, the eldest of your current offline device will be automatically disabled. You can enable it again at any time by manually managing your offline devices. Here’s how:

  1. Log in to your Account page.
  2. Select Offline devices in the menu on the left.
  3. Click REMOVE to disable the downloaded tracks on a single device. Or click REMOVE ALL DEVICES to disable the downloaded tracks on all your devices.

Premium subscribers must go online with Spotify at least once every 30 days. This is so Spotify can check that your subscription is still active and count track plays to compensate artists.

If you don’t go online with Spotify at least once every 30 days, any tracks you have downloaded for offline listening will be automatically removed from your device.

Music not downloading

If your music won’t download, make sure:

  • The device is not in Sleep Mode.
  • There’s enough free space on the device’s memory (we recommend at least 1GB).
  • The device has an active internet connection.
  • You don’t have 3 offline devices with downloaded tracks already. If you do, you can disable the downloaded tracks for one of them. See: Manage your devices (above).
  • You haven’t reached the device’s downloaded songs limit (3,333 songs per device).
  • Your subscription allows you to download for offline listening (See: Available subscriptions for more information).
  • Your account has been online at least once within the last 30 days. For more information, check out Why do I need to go online every 30 days (below).

Once you’ve checked the above, try re-downloading again.

Downloaded songs won't play

First, check the download status. The Downloaded symbol  indicates the download was successful.

  • If the Downloaded arrow is greyed out, check out ‘Music not downloading’ (above).
  • If the Downloaded arrow is green, try switch on Offline Mode (see above).
  • If that doesn’t work, try reinstalling the app.

Note: You need to re-download your music after reinstalling the app.
